i couldn't agree more! my daughter lives in a european city and walks EVERYWHERE, or takes the train, or the metrorail, or the bus (buses aren't scary over there like they are here)...she eats whatever she wants and burns it off walking. she loves it! no car payment, no gas, no auto insurance...she can therefore afford more for her apt.
